Sustaining Tenancies is a homelessness prevention service that CMM has provided since October last year, funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
The Government is to offer Mana Ake to schools in five other regions, in recognition of the success of the programme in Canterbury and Kaikōura.
A bright new mural outside CMM’s Aratupu Preschool & Whānau Hub reflects the natural history of the area and brings a much-needed splash of colour to a stretch of Harewood Road.
Philanthropic organisations provide a substantial and welcomed portion of funding of CMM programmes.
As such, CMM would like to recognise the significant support provided by the Tindall Foundation over the years, without which one major CMM programme would not be run.
According to the Government, 1524 Christchurch households in the December 2020 quarter urgently needed housing, up 67 percent on the same time a year earlier.
CMM clients often gain strength from knowing they’re not alone. To realise that others are walking the same path, facing the same struggles and seeking the same answers can be encouraging and a source of motivation.
