CMM is pleased to add 14 new leased houses to its social housing portfolio. The new additions are in The Residences At Karamū housing development in Broomfield, a mixed tenure residential community that includes 28 new social houses, half of which will be managed by CMM.
These homes are designated for families on the social housing register, many of whom have been living in transitional housing following numerous years of housing insecurity. The new tenants are scheduled to move in to Karamū this July. The opening of Karamū brings the number of social houses for families in `Christchurch administered by CMM to 47, located on six sites.
Our thanks to the Tindall Foundation for funding community- building activities at the site. These activities will be designed to improve residents’ social cohesion, improve mental health by reducing isolation, and facilitate connections between residents and their community.
