Women who enrol in CMM’s Woman Wise programme arrive with a wealth of lived experience, having navigated countless challenges with courage and determination.
Many have demonstrated extraordinary resilience in the face of hardship, trauma, caregiving responsibilities, or simply years of putting everyone else's needs before their own. Yet despite their strength, many struggle with low self-worth, limited confidence, isolation, or a lack of belief in their own potential.
Woman Wise was created to change that.
This six-week confidence-building course provides a nurturing environment where women can reconnect with their strengths, learn practical life skills, and take meaningful steps towards the future they want. Participants explore topics such as self-esteem, communication, boundaries, wellbeing, values, and self-care, gaining tools that support lasting personal growth.
“Our aim is to help women become more confident, more self-accepting, and more in control of their lives,” says course facilitator Deb Coughlann. “We want women to recognise their strengths, believe in themselves, and feel empowered to advocate for their own needs.”
The transformation is often remarkable. Over the six weeks, Deb has seen women become more engaged in discussions, communicate with greater confidence, set personal goals, and build supportive connections with one another. “The confidence that grows during the course reaches into every area of her life.”
For Deb, the greatest reward is witnessing the change in the room from beginning to end. Some women hardly speak or make eye contact in the first week, but by graduation the room feels homely, warm, and full of laughter. “Seeing women recognise their strengths and celebrate their achievements is incredibly special,” says Deb.
