Born and educated in England and awarded a prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Organists, Martin has built a remarkable career spanning continents. After emigrating to New Zealand in 1974, he spent 40 years teaching at the University of Canterbury School of Music, shaping generations of musicians before moving into full‑time freelance performance and advocacy for the organ as a concert instrument.

A regular and warmly reviewed performer on the international circuit, Martin has been praised as “a performer who believes organ concerts can be fun.” His career has taken him to many of the world’s most iconic organs, and he currently serves as curator of Christchurch’s Town Hall Organ. His blend of virtuosity, charm, and humour promises an uplifting afternoon in support of a worthy cause.
